A Status Page Pays for Itself in One Incident

During an outage two things compete for your team: fixing the thing, and answering people asking about the thing. The second scales with your customer count and interrupts the first. A status page is the cheapest available fix, and most teams put off building one because it sounds like a project.

It only works if it updates itself

A status page that depends on someone remembering to edit it mid-incident is a status page that says "All systems operational" throughout your worst hour. Publishing has to be part of the incident path, not a task competing with it.

  • Component-level state, so "billing is degraded" does not read as "everything is down".
  • Published from a node in the flow that already detected the failure.
  • A public URL support can link instead of retyping the same answer.
  • Included from the Starter plan rather than sold as an add-on.
